1. About us and these terms
These terms govern your use of the Yellow Iron marketplace at yellowironrent.com (the “Service”). 2. What the Service is
The Service is an online marketplace that helps people find independent providers of transport and equipment services in the United Kingdom and helps those providers be found. We are not the provider of the work and we do not carry it out. Any contract for services is made directly between you and the provider you choose.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract to book services, and you must give accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service unlawfully or fraudulently, post misleading, unsafe or infringing content, scrape or overload the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorised access. We may suspend or remove access where these terms are broken.
5. Listings and provider obligations
Providers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their listings, for holding any licences and insurances required for their work (for example waste carrier registration where they remove waste, and relevant insurance), and for performing services with reasonable care and skill. We may review, hide or remove listings that breach these terms or that we reasonably consider to be unsafe, misleading or unlawful. Some listings are compiled automatically from open reference data; where that is so, the listing shows its source and licence.
6. Enquiries, quotes and contracts
Enquiries you send are an expression of interest and are not binding. Price, timing, access and scope are agreed directly between you and the provider. We are not a party to the contract and do not take payment for the work.
7. Fees
Searching the Service and sending enquiries are free. During our launch period, creating a provider listing is also free. If we introduce paid features in future, we will tell you the price and terms before you are charged, and you will never be charged without your agreement.
8. Your rights as a consumer
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be performed with reasonable care and skill, and where information about the service, price or provider is given and relied on, it is treated as a term of the contract. Where you enter a distance contract with a provider, you may have a right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, except where an exception applies (for example work already completed with your consent). These rights are against the provider, not Yellow Iron.
9. Our liability
The Service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee the quality, safety or suitability of any provider or the work they carry out, and to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for the acts or omissions of providers. Our liability for our own services is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Complaints and dispute resolution
If you have a problem with the Service, contact us at support@yellowironrent.com. Disputes about the work itself are between you and the provider; we will help where we reasonably can. Where relevant, consumers may use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider and the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, its branding and content (other than user-submitted listings and third-party data) belong to us or our licensors. Third-party data is used under the licences stated on the relevant listings.
Some directory listings are compiled automatically from open data. Where that is the case, the listing shows its source and licence. In particular:
- Names, addresses and service tags taken from OpenStreetMap are © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL) 1.0.
- Waste-carrier details taken from the Environment Agency's Waste Carriers, Brokers and Dealers register are © Environment Agency copyright and database right, available under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (OGL).

12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is shown at the top of this page, and material changes will be notified where appropriate.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
